Lucyd's 1-year manufacturing-defect warranty — what's covered, what's not, and how to claim it.
Every Lucyd product comes with a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Lucyd Pro Insurance extends it to 24 months and adds user-damage coverage — see Lucyd Pro.
What’s covered
Your 1-year warranty covers manufacturing defects, including:
- Audio failure — one or both speakers blown, crackling, static, or microphones not registering audio.
- Charging failure — one or both sides not charging.
- Bluetooth failure — won’t pair or won’t stay paired (after a basic reset).
- Breakage near the hinge in the first year (typical manufacturing weak point — usually covered).
- Lenses fallen out and you can’t reinstall them.
- Lenses damaged in transit or in the first month of ownership.
- Other defects where the damage appears to be the manufacturer’s fault.
What’s NOT covered
The 1-year warranty does not cover user-caused damage:
- Dropped, cracked, or sat-on frames.
- Water damage (unless you have Lucyd Pro).
- Damage from third parties (kids, pets, etc.).
- Scratches on the lens after a few months of normal use (we sell extra lenses for this).
- Anything caused by attempts to modify or repair the unit yourself.
If your case isn’t covered we’ll often still help — typically a 50% replacement discount or, if you’re within 30 days of original purchase, the option to upgrade to Lucyd Pro Insurance retroactively to cover the claim.
How to claim warranty
- Contact our team with your order number (lucyd.co or marketplace), a short video clearly showing the issue, your full name, shipping address, and a phone number.
- We’ll review within 1 business day. If eligible, we’ll ship a replacement direct from our Miami warehouse.
- For some defects we don’t require you to ship the original back; for others, we’ll provide a prepaid return label.
Custom-lens orders
If your warranty case involves prescription lenses, we’ll provide a return label so we can transfer your lenses to a new frame (or remake them if defective). We don’t refund custom lenses, but we cover the lens swap or remake under warranty.
Marketplace orders
The 1-year warranty applies to every Lucyd product you buy from us, including on Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, or any marketplace. You don’t need to go through the marketplace for warranty — contact us directly. See Marketplace returns for the full picture.
Pro Insurance — upgrade your warranty
Lucyd Pro Insurance is $99 and extends your warranty to 24 months, covers user damage, and gives you up to 2 warranty replacements per year. If you buy it within 30 days of your original purchase we can apply it retroactively to a claim you’re working on.
